Aptitude
Aptitude is your inherent capacity,
ability or talent to do something. Aptitude may be mental or Physical.
An aptitude is an innate component of a competency to do a certain kind
of work at a certain level. The innate nature of aptitude is in contrast
to achievement, which represents knowledge or ability that is gained.
Aptitude and intelligence quotient (IQ)
are related, and in some ways opposite views of human mental ability.
Whereas intelligence quotient sees intelligence as being a single
measurable characteristic affecting all mental ability, aptitude refers
to one of many different characteristics which can be independent of
each other, such as aptitude for military flight, air traffic control,
or computer programming. This is more similar to the theory of multiple
intelligences.
Aptitude tests conducted in our quiz
programs are structured systematic ways of evaluating how people perform
on tasks or react to different situations. They have standardized
methods of administration and scoring with the results quantified and
compared with how others have done at the same tests. They are
increasingly administered on a computer.
